How does alastor appear in the photograph
Yeah just a heads up that this show is wrote and produced by different people not the orginal creator. So basing any theories on orginal ideas is a bad move. Alastor could end up not being asexual you know how these production companies take something an completely change it.
Something to note, Alastors disdain of tech is for anything that follows the 1930s. The picture shown was in black and white, so it was likely taken by an older style camera that Alastor has a preference for. Like the one he originally makes for Vaggie when she says she needs a camera.

While Alastor can still have partners being aroace(as it’s not a one fits all term), I don’t think him and Vox were a couple. I think Vox really liked and admired Al, enough to offer him a spot with the Vees, but Alastor rejected, and he was so humiliated he began to resent Alastor(or at least act like he does) and Alastor just stood his ground when it came to Vox’s need to one up him. Plus he doesn’t like modern tech so that adds to their rivalry :)
My theory about Alastor:
For why Alastor went missing after his fight with Vox is because he had been severely injured in the fight. And I thought of this from Vox's reaction to hearing Alastor is back and also after his fight with Adam, which put Alastor on fraud watch. This is also because of Alastor having a very strong dislike of having any imagery of himself and how Alastor is very conscious od his self-image. And it can be seen from Alastor reaction in the overlord meeting and disappointment in nobody caring about his return, how when Husk mention people became less afraid of his name from being missing which cause Alastor to be genuinely angry, Sussie using him to clean up her mess and decided to cut ties with her (most likely "out if mercy" with his friendship with her), and how he was very annoyed how Lucifer is completely clueless and blunt about not knowing who he was. Alastor also choosing to hide away in a very secluded place and singing his desire to cling to life after getting injured by Adam and only showed himself back to Charlie and the group after fully recovering as if nothing had happened
