The only method to deactivate a Samsung account from a phone without a password is to contact Samsung to locate and delete the account. If you wish to begin the procedure on your Samsung phone, follow the comprehensive instructions below.

  1. Unlock your phone, then launch the Samsung phone settings app from the app drawer.
  2. Scroll down until you see "Cloud and Accounts." Also, on the next page, select the "Accounts" tab.
  3. Then, from the choices, select "Samsung Accounts" and then "My profile." When prompted to enter your email address and password on the account screen, select "Forgot your ID and Password." A popup will appear on the screen; from there, select your preferred browser.
  4. A prompted browser prompts you to enter your ID and password, as well as your email address. After that, Samsung will send you an email with a link to reset your password.
  5. Return to your Samsung account settings and select "Remove Account" from the top-right menu bar.

So I will have a video coming with much more technical details. Until then, there are a couple of things to note.

-This only works for Apple Car Play at this time (No Android Auto unfortunately)

-A shortcut is required on the iPhone currently with an optional automation so you don't have to run it each time you get into the vehicle.

-Steering Wheel Buttons Note long press voice assist button DOES trigger SIRI! the track buttons do work for Car Play to control your audio.

-Those who support the developers and want to test the app may be able to gain testing access (so you don't have to do all the technical stuff). See the open source app contact link below.

-Currently only wireless CarPlay works (no wired).

  2. I understand the apk isn't available, but why isn't anyone showing a quick screen share of compiling the app? Compiling an apk isn't rocket science, and I sincerely doubt the app is ever going to the app store. Google won't be keen on circumventing AAOS block on side-loading apps.

  3. I’ve owned my Equinox EV for seven months now. If it had native CarPlay, I’d love the car and wouldn’t regret buying it. I genuinely hoped GM would include the functionality in an update when I purchased it, but then the dreaded announcement came. Growing up in a GM family in Michigan, the announcement that CarPlay would be never be available in the future made me vow to never buy another GM vehicle. I also imagine that GM will lose out on sales from ride-share drivers as well.

  4. What’s crazy is that the real CarPlay app is in every EV, however it’s walled off from userland by Chevy.

If they wanted to, they could easily enable it with an OTA update. Someone needs to figure out how to enable to native app, and then we’d be good to go.
