Link cable plugged in to PC is still draining my battery
I got a Wifie 6e router, and i'm blown away by how much better wireless PCVR is. It's like there is no difference between what my PC is rendering, and what my headset is getting. HL Alyx is on ultra graphics and its running at 90fps and never dips. Wifi 6e might be the best thing about the Quest 3 for PCVR users.
SteamVR games were causing my PC to hard crash with the Quest 3 (was OK with the Quest 2). Happened in Airlink and USB cable modes. About 30 seconds after starting a SteamVR game… *boom*. I fixed it by installing the SteamVR beta… just right-click SteamVR in Steam launcher and select Properties… Betas… Beta Participation and select the beta version.
I recently bought the Cable Creations fiber optic cable and it was displaying a line near the bottom of the screen where one part got brighter than the other was not as bright. I don’t think this is normal, am I correct? It kept doing it once every 10 mins. I have tired uninstalling it with safe mode and it didn’t work still same issue. My pc has a RTx 2070 which should be able to handle it. The cable is compatible with 2.0 gbps speed by software. I am now honestly thinking about coughing out for the official meta one. Maybe that one won’t have that issue.
As others have mentioned, this does not work for many of us. Seems to be a pervasive issue. The link cable will not work under any circumstance, and air link connects but is unusable

I've been able to install and connect Air Link to my pc and headset, but I cannot get steam VR to work or show up in the library. On my pc is says please connect headset even though it's connected to Air Link

Guys ! Could you tell in me what is your data speed with your link cable and what is your mother board ?
On an old setup with a i7 8700k and a msi z 370 pro i can get at best 2.4 and it's never the same result between 2.2 and 2.4 but on my amd setup wit h a 5800x3d and a gigabyte b450 I can get 2.8 (or 2.9 don't remember exactly) with the same usb-c cable that cost me 12 €.
I tried testing the quest 3 on a 2080ti and the i7 and the image quality at 1.0 was just abysmal but with my 5800x3d and artx 4090 it was really good, so i'm asking myself if the link cable was able to benefit from the rtx 4090 about the av1 10 bit encoder capability or if that was just the 0.400 mbps difference that makes it SO different ?
I will test later the 2080ti on my amd motherboard but meanwhile if you could give me your dataspeed that would be really nice of you. thanks.
I have updated my Meta Quest 3 software. In the settings, the refresh rate is 72 Hz and I can't choose 90 or 120 Hz.
I have a damn RTX 4080. She will calmly pull 90 – 120, but I can't choose them because they are simply not in the menu.

If i made the game purchases through the PC Oculus app, but, what if I disconnect my Quest 3 with my PC and choose to play through Quest 3 standalone, can I get the app back for free?
Is Virtual Desktop less clunky than the Meta software?
I'll admit I haven't tried the Meta software in a while, but it was always a P.I.T.A. to tweak settings, or do anything else, when jumping between Steam VR, desktop, and standalone with the Meta software there in the mix.
Can you test fast pace non vr games like csgo?

FYI PCVR on Quest is basically streaming compressed video to the headset. Not uncompressed HDMI / Displayport. That said, the quality is very good especially with the new AV1 codec. Wireless freedom!
No 120 hz on pc yet.
at 1:52 it means my computer needs a wifi adaptor not ethernet cable connected to my internet to use Quest 3 wireless?
