Back in the day I used to use my table, I used my table so much I rubbed off the coating and started to rub the paint off, everythimg becoming blue (my desk was blue painted wooden desk)
Everyone at some point has used a mouse without a mouse mat and has instantly hated it so no I will keep[ buying a consistent smooth surface that also protects the desk.
