J95 is the better Prado
It's a good budget 4WD that's reliable, mines been flogged on hectic offroad tracks and hasn't had an issue.
Fit a supercharger to it and the fuel figures improve, the poor fuel consumption stems from low power and torque coupled to the vast nature of the vehicle, improve the power and torque thus the engine does not have to work as hard to move the vehicle hence better fuel consumption

Can you do the J90?
I've got the 4L Petrol and almost all my records on Fuelio clock in around 13L/100km, just don't drive them like a wanker and you'll be laughing. I do drive the manual not the auto though, so that probably helps since I can specifically shift gears for better fuel economy unlike the auto which just reacts to driver input.
The door pocket was for a refidex and maps
I went with the Pajero instead. They have their own issues, but I thought that an old Pajero would be slightly more robust than an old Prado, even if the Prado does look the goods.
