I literally just got into online privacy this month, especially after learning programming and about to persue a career in cyber security. It feels nice being mostly free from google! This weekend I am switching to all Proton services. The free VPN is nice but limited so I don't mind paying for some things. If it is free, you are the product. Excellent info but, this is not degoogle, you just removed the consent to some option. In some cases they do not change the monitoring that google has on you, such as maps for example, even without using it and even without active PGS they know your constant approximate position, in other ways, such as networks between devices, which even if disabled work the same.
You should completely remove google to be sure… at least from that point of view because then… uff
