For some reason, i can't turn on a sim card that works fine on other device. The phone recognizes the service provider and the number, but it is always off. Nothing happens when i try to switch it on. My device is Xiaomi T11 pro.

However, enabling software from unknown sources is not necessary: the second SIM slot continues working after disabling software from unknown sources, which is the safer thing to do.

Solution did not work. The SIM settings screen is shadowed somehow. I cannot access it. The problem is shown in this video. But the person speaking in Indian, I guess, does not provide a solution. Not that I could see it, cause I do not understand anything that he is saying.

My phone is Poco F3, this problem happens after update to Miui 14. This action doesnt work on me, please dont choose "Force Restart" option, choose this as last efforts. I suggest open "Settings", "Apps", "Manage apps", search for "Sim", select "Xiaomi Sim Activation Service", select "Uninstall update". You still can have miui 14 update but not having sim issue
