Better to just boot into recovery and wipe data factory reset or through Settings
And if you wanna reinstall the OS
Might as well download the factory image and flashing the stock rom with adb or a flash tool or Odin for Samsung which will delete all the system files and replace them which will fix system issues

also it did not remove the lock, it FACTORY RESTed the phone loosing all the data …..
