  1. I need a keyboard with the best sound. I don't care about features. I couldn't move my real piano . I Need a Piano only with nice sound, nice feel and a sustain pedal.? What about other Costco ones? Casio PX-765 or even less Casio CDP–S110. Do you recommend anything based on sound only? :)or do you really get what you pay for?

  2. Very good review, but I disagree with the end comment that this keyboard is not something to "run out and get." This is a SUPER good price for the bundle at Costco, but they only bring this out in October-December each year. Most years they sell out, and this is such a good keyboard that many online retailers are out of stock around the holidays. The stand included in the bundle is just 3 thin boards that you screw together, but it is pretty stable providing that you don't try to sit on it. The piano bench is very good quality, very sturdy and does include storage space under the seat. The headphones included are also of very good quality, and I frequently use the headphones when my wife is watching TV. The sustain "pedal" is a cheap piece of plastic and although it works, you'll never get the feel of a real sustain pedal unless you spend another $50 to buy the Roland accessory pedal. But the keyboard itself is phenomenal, the feel and action of the weighted keys is VERY close to a real acoustic piano. To get this kind of feel in competitive products Like Yamaha and Kawai, you'd have to spend hundreds more. I've had mine since October 2020 and I play it every day. It is perfect for beginners or intermediates, the feel and sound are fantastic for the price. If you do want more features, like accompaniment, percussion, and rhythm, you'll have to spend more, but you do get several instruments and with the Roland app on your phone or tablet, you get additional instruments that are not on the manually selectable control panel. One more thing: if you purchase a specialty cable, that is small stereo jack at one end and two 1/4-inch phono jacks at the other end, you CAN plug into a DAW for recording in stereo.

  3. Just bought one for $300 at Costco. What a deal! Started on an app learning to play. Bought partly for the family to use after buying a smaller 61 key Yamaha keyboard piano yesterday for her for portability.

Piano sounds nice. Great beginner instrument, and at the price it is a no brainer.

  4. Great review! Just picked up one of these for $550 and the feel is super nice, I love the response far more than I was expecting to. I do some music production so I'm curious to see if it'll work good as a midi controller in case I need a bigger one for something.

  5. Well, at least it does have an output! Presumably this is a 3.5mm stereo socket. I suppose that one small socket is cheaper than two big sockets. This is clearly made for home use, and is never going to be used much on a big stage anyway. The FP-30 itself had no line output except for the headphone socket, so I wouldn't complain. But at this price I'd also like to see a similar socket for stereo input – connect a device or playback from an audio recorder. I find those very useful.

Feature-wise, the Alesis Prestige & Prestige Elite pianos blows this one out of the water. But maybe the action or sounds are better on this. Dunno. Free stand and bench? That's good.

Overall a nice review (it get's my thumbs up) but made too quickly. When it comes to saying "…when it comes to…" for the 8th time, try to resist!

  7. I play piano for my enjoyment and to accompany small choir at church. My old upright piano was ruined when I had a water leak and I've been unable to find a quality replacement. I am used to the feel of an upright piano with ivory & ebony keys. I am retired & on a fixed income, so cannot invest in a true replacement at this time. Do you have any suggestions? I won't be transporting it — just having it in my dining room.
