It's such a shame because the Jade color on this phone is gorgeous. Again, it's an edge case but it is a possibility. If I were a parent leaving my kid at home and the pixel wasn't my primary device (realistic for me) or traveling say, on a plane with my young child, a phone that catches on fire like that IS 100% a liability. The couch scenario is very realistic and possible too. Not a good look for an $1800 phone trying to compete in an increasingly crowded market. The bottom line is I trust Samsung not to be stupid like this. I have feels for Pixels but they're ultimately just not as reliable THESE DAYS as they should be, compared to the other big boys
