Also Twitter is tied to google searches the more people write the more content will be seen as search resoult as google and it will drive more traffict to the site and more even uregistered users will see the adds. A more relevant analogy is to compare it to voting. People disgusted with Trump and/or Elon can simply state that they will no longer vote. That won't have much effect. Voting AGAINST someone, or voting for the other candidate will have more effect. Republican strategy is to LIMIT voting by demographic groups they don't want.
